Each year the Foundation grants over 90 dialysis and/or transplant units between $125 and $400 towards assisting their patients in emergency financial situations. NKF works with the CNSW as well as volunteer leaders of the NKF to provide the most efficient and streamlined approach to reach those who are in the most need. The Patient Assistance program awarded $20,000 to 94 dialysis and transplant units for 2008 - 2009.

The checks are written directly to the institution (required by tax law). It is the responsibility of the social worker to work with their finance and administration departments to ensure that they are able to receive this money.

The 2009-2010 Patient Assistance Application will be available in March 2009. Please check back to download and send in the application. We will also alert social workers when the applications are available.
