KEEP Certification Program
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is offering a certification program to train people to organize and run the KEEP Program. Health care experience is preferred but not required. As a Volunteer Coordinator your role includes seeking a venue, recruiting volunteers and working in collaboration with the NKF Program Manager to gain necessary supplies and equipment.
KEEP Technical Volunteer
At the KEEP clinic blood, and urine samples are collected from participants and screened for kidney disease. Once results are received and logged the participant has the opportunity to speak with a physician or an NP to discuss their results. Technical volunteers have the qualifications to draw blood, urine and/or provide consultations.
KEEP General Volunteer
Before the participant can be screened they must complete a comprehensive medical history questionnaire that determines if they qualify to participate. A general volunteer helps with registration and works with participants to complete questionnaires. Bilingual volunteers are encouraged to sign up.
